is this instance running on some sort of limited federation? how can i interact with other instances from this one? i just see a few specific instances in the remote feed.

i was trying to find some brazilian mastodon instances but they weren't showing up. when I followed this account with my account in one of those instances, no notifications arrived. i was worried it was a bug on federation.
