I just logged back here after a few days, and what do I see? Federation is enabled! Nice!
For some reason, after my browser closes (both on mobile with Chromium and desktop with Firefox) I get logged out. Kind of a pain..If this is intentional, we should at least have a checkbox to choose whether to keep the account logged in after closing the browser, or not.. but really, more options are only more confusion, at least today that private windows exist and they clear all your data when you close them.@BonfireBuilders #bonfire_feedback
Uhm, seems like I have just been able to boost a post 2 timesBecause I clicked 2 times on the boost button, but I did so because the button didn't become blue on the current screen (I only saw it as blue when I got to my home and saw the post boosted 2 times)So.. 2 bugs that have to be fixed. One, server side, should not let someone boost a post without first unboosting it;The second, client side, should be made so that when you click boost it immediately shows upI saw this bug on mobile btw
I have a suggestion for Bonfire: @BonfireBuilders #bonfire_feedback The user interface seems to suggest that I want to do serial posting most of the time, which I think should not really be encouraged. So after I push the "post" button, instead of showing me the result of my labor, bonfire shows a toast message with a link that would lead me there. My sense is that posting something should show me what I sent out into the world immediately, as others will see it. Because the composition and display can be quite different, you will spot typos etc. Also probably I want to see if somebody is reacting to what I posted.Just keeping me at the post composition makes it look like I should just keep posting, without concern for feedback.
Also, just noticed a new issue..
On desktop at least (Firefox 101, screen of 1360x768), when replying to a message with a loooong code block in it, the entire reply UI gets slightly more and more hidden towards the left of the screen, with a part of the text and button disappearing, and there is no way of scrolling back.
This doesn't happen in full screen writing mode, though.
When you're browsing a timeline (e.g. the local instance) and you get a notification (e.g. new follow) the feed disappears until you clear the notification.@BonfireBuilders
I just noticed the great variety of UI themes in the settings! The included themes are nice, but having an option to inject custom CSS would probably be a nice addition too
I'm just trying this platform, for fun.Really nice to see that navigation (moving between timelines) works without JavaScript, but post writing doesn't. Is this last thing a bug? I don't believe it's intentional.
That's all folks...
