A bonfire builder. They/them.
We could make the icons used configurable, but in view of having good defaults, does anyone have suggestions? We can choose from this set of 100,000+ icons: icon-sets.iconify.design

🎺 Just updated the playground. New goodies include:
- A basic coordination app
- An updated layout and navigation incl. an app switcher
- Many fixes & tweaks (and a few remaining broken things on our to-do list)
An [incomplete] changelog as always is available at playground.bonfire.cafe/term...
The coordination app is the first of many that's based on the valueflo.ws vocabulary for economic cooperation. We're also planning to interoperate with the various forge federation projects for using it as an issue tracker for FOSS projects.

Doug, that seems super interesting and very well aligned indeed.
Your mention of language barriers also makes me trigger another small limitation on other microblogging services that Bonfire could make better: the ability to express the language used, per post.
Many people (me included) uses 2 or more languages.
- If the language setting is in the configuration, there is only one.
- But if it can be set by post, I can express when I'm posting in Spanish and when in English, so people can filter those.
WDYAT?
Yeah definitely! This is something I've been wanting to do. Will keep it in mind for our upcoming redesign of the composer.
Seems like this could help otherwise: github.com/YunoHost-Apps/dex...
Great questions! This is indeed something I am very interested in and have started to prototype: github.com/bonfire-networks/...
An extension to enable:
- authenticating on Bonfire using an external identity using OpenID Connect
- using your Bonfire identity to authenticate in other apps with OpenID Connect 1.0 or OAuth 2.0
So basically, if you have a specific app/platform you'd like to try this with, it should be possible (depending on what the other software supports of course), but some testing and tweaking of the implementation will need to be done.
If it's not the time to ask this I'm sorry and please simply dismiss this post.
Imagine that you already have a community working on a CMS or LMS (like Moodle, Wordpress, Discourse, Drupal, etc.) with a bunch of users and a way to manage them (create, give roles/permissions, delete, etc.).
Is it, now or planned in a near future, a way to somehow connect that with a Bonfire instance so we don't need to have double users, one in each platform? Or -in the other way- can Bonfire provide this authentication? One platform to rule them all, one platform to find them, one platform to bring them all and in the Fediverse light bask them? 🤣
In brief: can Bonfire accept/provide identification by/to other sources?
Thanks a lot, and I hope this discussion opens some possibilities. :)

or alternatively we can leave the feed as it is, but showing more context when the user click on the reply icon.
Rather than just showing the replied to post above the composer box, we can show a more contexted set of information related to the thread (We can merge the read discussion and the reply icon together, so that when you click on the reply icon it shows the thread and load the position where you want to reply to ?)
Ohh this is a good idea anyway, even if we add more info in the feed!
