I have a suggestion for Bonfire:

@BonfireBuilders #bonfire_feedback

  1. the limitation of names to minimum 3 chars doesn’t have any technical basis. I like going by s0. Why is my profile name required to be 3 characters long?
  2. the post-email confirmation account creation form profile info field gets cleared if there was an error in other fields, which may have had long text typed in it.
  3. on iPad safari landscape view and similar viewports, the share feedback button on the bottom of the right column is sometimes scrolled offscreen and inaccessible. Otherwise sometimes instead the search bar at the top is inaccessible.
  4. there’s no clear indication of how and when the automatic formatting is applied in the post view — for example turning this into a numbered list without asking first, changing the indentation, etc… what if I didn’t want that?
  5. The post field is very long by default on the /write page, even with quite short content actually in the field. It leaves a lot of white space between the post and the actual post button.
  6. the “upload an image” description that appears over the attachment button is cut off by the edge of the middle column and illegible.
  7. Pasting an image into the rich text field results in a big empty rectangle but the image doesn’t seem to render here.
  8. there doesn’t seem to be a way to add image descriptions?

@s0 @BonfireBuilders

1/ fair enough

2/ good point!

3/ we didn't tested enough bonfire on mobile yet unfortunately, several users are experiencing these kind of issues, noted here: https://github.com/bonfire-networks/bonfire-app/issues/384

4/ another good point!

5/ and this sounds reasonable again 😆

6/ yeah this is an annoying known issue with the current template, still looking for the right fix

7/ this is actually new to me!

8/ you should see the "add a description" field after uploading the image (top-left corner)

Thanks a lot for reporting these!

@BonfireBuilders image that wouldn’t attach by pasting, now attached by attach button. I can now see there is an image description button.
