A minor update was deployed to the playground, including a few fixes for things all have reported (thanks again!).
There's also a new setting available in user preferences (see screenshot).

Two issues have been solved and will be available in the next release:
- The app should now keep you logged in: github.com/bonfire-networks/...
- You'll be able to login with your @ username (until now you could if you didn't include the @)
@Dazinism It is now deployed on the playground. You may need to log out and log in again to start a longer session.
I have a suggestion for Bonfire:
The Android UX could be improved. I’m not frustrated at all, but Android suspends my browser after about 15 minutes, so when this happens I lose every draft I’ve started.
Of course I use my clipboard to avoid this. FYI, Pinafore saves drafts in internal storage so even if my phone/computer rebooted, it would retrieve them locally. I don’t know if it would be easy to tweak with the Bonfire codebase, I tend to guess it would, but I have zero experience in development.

I come back to an open tab on my browser (android chromium) after some days. I need to login again. Try and login with my user name and password. Try and login wifh user name and password and get a "Not allowed Invalid CSRF token" fail screen
I goto the playground bonfire home page and try again and see the second error message. Finally i succeed by using me email address rather than user name (i was using @ at beginning of user name)
(Trying to repost this without the attached images, Ill add them to the next post, as I couldn't see the post button with them attached - also the X to cancel the post didnt work or the delete attachments so i had to reload to be able to write a new post)

I wonder about using the description metadata field (XMP-dc:Description) tag.
I think this is starting to get used, shown to users an editable field, in the smartphone image/video Gallery apps from both Apple and Google..
I managed to get someone working on a new open source Gallery app to add it to their app. Theres not yet been a release since it was added https://github.com/Lmh170/Android-Gallery-App
This is gonna sound silly, but in a best-effort attempt at making computers and the internet more accessible, I'd like to suggest making the alt text editor edit directly the image metadata ("notes" field), and then use the metadata as the alt field

Kinda unrelated and I don't want to see Twitter implement crowdfunding, but maybe we could define:
- features that Facebook, or Twitter, won't be able to implement, making their users migrate here,
- features that Facebook, or Twitter, will be forced to adopt, and
- features that improve our life experience (e.g. enabling mutual aid).

This is really interesting! I was not at home last couple of days - hope to read all the threads I have missed soon! But I'm particularly interested upon which kind of mutual aid extension you were thinking at? (We currently have a offers/needs draft, but curious if you were thinking to something else in particular apart from crowdfunding)

I haven't given up on the idea of federated resource-sharing. I'd love to resurrect the original idea of MoodleNet as a Bonfire extension!
I have a suggestion for Bonfire: this one is such a tiny thing, but... the emoji in the top-right corner of the compose window is from a different emoji set to the (much better!) ones you can actually choose from in the picker. I'd ideally like them to match! 😂
