Uhm, seems like I have just been able to boost a post 2 times
Because I clicked 2 times on the boost button, but I did so because the button didn't become blue on the current screen (I only saw it as blue when I got to my home and saw the post boosted 2 times)
So.. 2 bugs that have to be fixed.
One, server side, should not let someone boost a post without first unboosting it;
The second, client side, should be made so that when you click boost it immediately shows up
I saw this bug on mobile btw
Temporary solution to some of the slowdown issues is to use uBlock Origin to block the domain 'robohash.org' (used to generate the default avatars)
You can do this by:
- Right-clicking on any robot avatar
- Choosing 'Block element'
- Deleting everything after 'robohash.org'
- Pressing the 'Create button'
- Refreshing the page
Hopefully @BonfireBuilders will swap out the default avatars soon!
My browser also has chrome://flags/#enable-tab-groups enabled by default which was covering the bottom of the screen (I had bonfire open as a tab in a group) and may be playing into this a bit? Initially I could see the yellow button. Later could see just the very top sticking out from behind the tab group bar, later it vanished. Just saw similar with the edit profile screen and the yellow button at the bottom of that
@Dazinism @BonfireBuilders Possibly related/similar: I have a Chrome OS device and sometimes the bottom of a web page is cut off by the dock.

I have 4 notifications. I had 5, but clicked on the number and now I see 4. But no amount of clicking on the number or the various notifications seems to reduce the number to less than 4.
So how do I get rid of my stale notificactions?

The default avatar pictures seem to depict robots mostly. That sends a weird message I think.
Also their style doesn't fit to bonfire, you should be a squirrel or a bear instead, if you're not going for totally abstract default avatars.

fwiw loading the local feed seems to take some time in my Firefox on MacOS. Compared with social.coop/mastodon for example, it seems laggy.
Agreed, it was really snappy this morning (I asked and server is ARM-based, quad-core with 24GB RAM) so there's something going on...
Goodness 🙄 the font size in this compose box is almost unreadably small. Please do make the default larger - the same size as is used to display the popst being responded to would be fine.

I wonder if it is possible for a fedi project like bonfire to keep old user images on a post when a user uploads a new user image. Ideally, the user could choose when changing the user image if all previous versions of the image should be overwritten or kept.
Like Gravatar does?

@BonfireBuilders #bonfire_feedback Testing Bonfire with 2 browsers: in LibreWolf (Firefox fork) and Brave Browser, when writing a new article, the emoji is somewhat placed at the beginning of the article (example: "🔥Hello world!"). It happens when I searched a specific emoji with the placeholder. Otherwise, it works perfectly, even for "frequently used" emojis. 👍
This used to happen to me but seems to be fixed now? 🙃
I have a suggestion for Bonfire: two things:
- I'd suggest moving the 'Have some feedback?' box above 'Trending topics' as it's below the fold, even on my 3:2 screen.
- It would be great if I could press Ctrl+Enter to post from the compose box!
